"Another nice surprise when tasting this one at a rum event in Copenhagen. The nose is wonderfully fruity with some coffee and a tail of wood. The palate is nice and complex while well balanced between alcohol and fruit and spices. In the back i get some wood and nuttyness. The finish is long and fruity with some vanilla and wood. "

"Tasted together with RA T.D.L 2002 The rum club shimmers a shade darker in the glass. In direct comparison, the nose of the RA is more defined. The mint in particular is more clearly recognizable. With the Rumclub, everything is a little masked. It seems to want to make up for this on the palate: a real herbal explosion sets in after 1-2 seconds! At this point, the RA becomes more "dirty" and the Rumclub stays more with the herbs and floral notes and is clearly sweeter and fruitier. This continues in the finish: the RA dabbles more in the dirt while the Rumclub remains very straightforward with the mint, sweetness and fruit. Very good rum, for me one point behind the RA, which seems more versatile and complex. I have to say that the bottle of RA has been open for a while, so the comparison is a little off."

"#4059 A pretty nice single cask from HSE. The wood plays first violin followed by fruits and spices. Pretty fresh profile in my mind but would have loved a higher ABV. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some nuts that weren't there on the initial nose and perfume/flowery notes."

"Tasted at the 12th GRF Very good Foursquare! Unfortunately, only available as 1l bottle and thus quite expensive in absolute terms but attractive in relation to the quantity and especially the quality offered. For Foursquarefans a must!"

"This one was a huge surprise. A very well balanced Panama rum with very good ABV integration. Lightly fruity profile with roasted nuts and a warm oily palate. Draws really nice and slow moving curtains in the glass. Even today the plum/prune note is in the empty bottle."

Black Tot Rum Demerara Aged 40 Years
Top review from Christoph:
"Ingenious Navy Rum you notice the long maturation. In the tasting comparison, most found the Last Consignment better, I personally liked the 40Y due to the even stronger maturation that you notice clearly in comparison better. Less fruity, but woodier, mustier than the Last Consignment. Arr!"

"#4609 10.02.2024 tasting event at the Nobilis Warehouse, Haderslev. Nose Wood, fruity, light roasted, pineapple, light caramel, berries, spice. Palate Wood, light roasted, fruity, pineapple, berries, spice, light chocolate, light ginger. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, fruity, light cherry, light chocolate. A very good rum considering the price tag."

"Skeldon always arouses a certain expectation in me... I still don't understand why. Nose very spicy, chocolatey with dark fruits, leather and sweetness. On the palate it is very accessible, oily and sweet. Then immediately a peppery and very spicy taste with chocolate, allspice, slightly menthol and a harmonious barrel influence comes through. At first it reminded me of an old 1983 Panama rum. The finish is then relatively short and unspectacular. Alcohol barely perceptible on the nose and palate. All in all, good/tasty but entertaining."

"#4022 This one packs a nice punch from pouring to nosing and drinking. Once resting you get a fresh and fruity Jamaican with nice wood and spice. The palate is lightly dry and intense. The cask finish is there without being too dominant and I like it. The empty glass has the same nice and intense nose with some light leather notes."

"A Caipirinha from the bottle, but quite positively meant. Taste like an aged cachaca that has already been mixed with lime and other citrus fruits. Some raisin and tangerine. Overall very round and pleasant on the palate."

"Bought this bottle to a very good price from Catawiki. This Damoiseau 10yo rum is a blend of rums from the Bellevue distillery in Moule on the island of Grande-Terre in Guadeloupe. It have spent a minimum of 10 years in ex-Bourbon oak barrels with a capacity of 190 liters. The finish is quite long and the tastes are prolonged. As a summary a great and elegant rum."

Wirklich leckerer sipper und Mal was anderes!

"Retasting at the German Rum Fest 2023. ----- I like drinking Madeira as well and it's definitely in the profile and a bit too dominant in my opinion. Fruity with roasted wood and nicely oily on the palate. Draws really nice curtains in the glass."

"Have had this 14yo Montebello from the Carrere distillery for a while and now it was time to test it. The Carrere distillery is quite young. They started up 1930 and from 1966 it has been operated by the Marsolle family. It’s vintage 2000 bottled 2015 at ABV 50,6%. There’s just 1250 bottles blended from four different ex bourbon casks. It’s extremely elegant and smooth and it’s actually quite hard to understand that the ABV is 50,6%. To feel the elegance of this rum it’s in my opinion important to keep it for a while in your mouth before you swallow."

"Overall an interesting and quite powerful rum, “Fuerte” means powerful, with lots of similarities to Agricole rum. Btw, I’ve heard that Spain wants to change the EU-regulations around agricole so that even the Canary Islands officially can produce agricole. I tasted it at Herida Brands stand at the Stockholm Beer & Spirits Fair 2023. This rum, Tres Hombres Ed. 62 “La Palma Fuerte”, from the Aldea distillery in La Palma, Canary Islands, is made from “guarapo" which is sugar cane juice. The rum was then collected by the cargo sailboat Tres Hombres in 2022, then aged for 10 years. Onboard at sea the rum spent 6 months in barrels earlier contained Sherry Oloroso, Moscatel and Porto Tawny. Back in Amsterdam it’s blended and married for some more time before bottled in 1336 bottles at ABV 44%."
