“The nose is greedy and sweet. The palate is heavy, dusty and coppery, with citrus fruits melted into precious wood.”

“The nose I find very good, but on the palate dominate a little too much wood, vinegar, leather, licorice. Unfortunately, the fruitiness of the normal PM97 is missing.”

“The Rare Collection has really excellent bottlings with now very good PLV.Nose: full-bodied, elegant and round. Spicy-fruity-caramel. Overall dark and malty with dried orange, dried black currant and sulfured raisins. Also vanilla, dark maple syrup, some licorice and soft licorice and cream toffee. The 20 years have produced a beguiling nose. 90Palate: intense, elegant and balanced. Spicy-woody without the wood being too strong. Toasty, salty and burnt at first, then anise, licorice and a hint of mint. Seems slightly bacony with umami and fat pecan. Fine orange peel still comes in the back. The 20 years also makes a very good impression on the palate. 89”
